If you forget names of the people you just met, then there is nothing to feel worried about. Our brain gradually starts to lose its memory recalling ability after 45 years of age. This is natural

Be worried when you forget the names of your close friends, relatives, and family members. This could be a symptom of a bodily problem.
2. Forgetting the Purpose
When should you not be worried?
You need not feel worried when you enter a room and forget the real reason for your visit to the room. This can happen due to stress, tension, fear, etc..
When should you be worried?
If you victimise someone for the loss of some object and you have no idea if the object really belongs to you. And you feel little confused about the situation you have created.
3. Repeating the same thing over and over again
When should you not be worried?
When someone informs you that “you have told this information before” and you know that you did tell the information to someone but forgot who it was.

If you keep repeating the same thing over and over again in a conversation and you have no idea that you are doing it.
4. Forgetting Where you parked your vehicle
When should you not be worried?
It is normal to forget to where you parked your vehicle sometimes. This could be due to short-term memory loss or due to your attention over something else while parking the vehicle. Practice being more attentive next time.

When you forget the parking location on a daily basis and forget the way back to your home. Because the memory of way back to your home would be deeply engraved in your brain.
5. Forgetting the plans
When should you not be worried?
When you forget your weekend plan of going out for a movie or going out to a beach and ask your family members about the weekend plan again. This can happen sometimes. It is quite normal when you have busy working schedule back at your office and going out during the weekend is not one of your first priority. This happens to middle-aged people often due to the sluggish working of the hippocampus which is a part of your brain.
When should you be worried?
When you ask for a weekend plan to your family members and friends, and totally forget about it after 30 minutes or so and post the same question again. And you have no memory of asking this question just 30 minutes back. This can happen due to depression, and lack of focus as well.
6. Forgetting old memories
When should you not be worried?
When you forget what you had for dinner the previous night. We rarely store recent memories in our brain.
When should you be worried?
When you have zero memory of what happened the previous day, and you have no memories of your childhood. We usually recall our childhood memories more often. So they are deeply stored in our memories. We rarely forget them.
