Alpha-linolenic acid is commonly called as ALA. It is one of the most important omega-3 fatty acids. It is believed to be very important for our growth and maintaining healthy functioning of the internal organs.

It is prescribed as a medication for people who had their first heart attack to prevent the second one. It reduces the blood sugar levels so it can be used to control diabetes with Doctor’s advice.

Benefits of Alpha-linolenic Acid

  • It removes the fat and cholesterol deposits in the arteries and blood vessels.
  • Regulates and removes excess cholesterol in our body.
  • Used as a medicine to cure Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is a joint problem.
  • To cure and treat diabetes, Sclerosis disease, and kidney disorders.
  • It is also used to cure COPD which is a lung disease, skin cancer, psoriasis, depression, and migraine.
  • It prevents testicle cancer in men.
  • Problems that occur due to deficiency of Alpha-linolenic Acid
  • Increases the chances of heart problems.
  • Alpha-linolenic acid deficiency must be checked after the first attack. Otherwise, it can immediately lead to a second attack.

  • Walnut, chia seeds.
  • Vegetable oil, soy oil, canola, flaxseed oil.
  • Mutton, beef
  • Yeast

How much Alpha Linolenic acid we need per day?

Alpha-linolenic acid levels we need per day is based on your calorie intake. We need it in the ratio of 1:1000 against our calorie intake. For example, if we consume 2000 calories per day then the level of alpha-linolenic acid in it should be 2 grams.
