Dried fruits are not only a rich source of nutrients, but it also has high levels of calories. So it should be consumed in minimal quantities. A fist full of dried fruits is the right quantity for a day for a healthy and normal person. It doesn’t influence blood sugar levels as it contains natural sugars. The drying process of certain fruits involves the addition of sugar. These fruits are not a healthy option for people with diabetes.

Dried fruits are a great source of phytonutrients. Additionally, it is also the best source of antioxidants such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, phytoestrogens, and carotenoids.

Traditional dried fruits like grapes, fig, dates, and plums packs in the same level of nutrients similar to its fresh counterpart. Apart from reducing blood pressure, these fruits encourage the growth of good bacterias in the colon. So it helps to keep our digestive system in good shape.

Many studies indicate people who consume dried fruits on a regular basis weigh less and have lower waistline over those who do not consume it regularly.

Dried grapes are a rich source of fiber. It is rich in antioxidants. It is rich in calories so it can be consumed before regular meals to make us feel full. This helps to reduce overall calorie consumption. Sports professionals can consume dried grapes to improve their performance in the game.

It is rich in fiber, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and iron, all of which is essential for bone strength. Consuming dried plums regularly prevents weakening of bone in postmenopausal women.
