We intake tablets and pills for various diseases and conditions. But consuming two different tablets or medications for two different diseases at the same time can sometimes lead to disastrous results, warns Doctors. This the reason why Doctors before writing down their prescription, they will enquire about other medications the person regularly intakes.
Some tablets should not be consumed with medications prescribed for other diseases. So what are these tablets and what are the dangerous drug combinations which we should avoid at all costs?
Combo 1
Drugs which are used for bleeding like Warfarin, Antiplatelets should not be used with Aspirin, steroids, Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug, and turmeric, fish liver oil and other supplements must be avoided.
Result: It will not stop bleeding, on the contrary, it will increase the bleeding process.
Combo 2
Aspirin, Naproxen, Ibuprofen and other similar tablets should not be used along with tablets that are used to reduce blood pressure.
Result: Both types of these tablets directly affects kidneys. When consuming both these tablets in combination, it will increase the risk.
Combo 3
Painkillers like Vicodin, Percocet should not be used along with tablets like Acetaminophen which is used for cough and cold.
Result: One of the main ingredients in painkillers is Acetaminophen, so when its dosage is increased it affects the liver.
Combo 4
Painkillers and tablets that are used to reduce side effects should not be consumed along with tablets that are used for allergies such as Antihistamines, and Diphenhydramine.
Result: It will induce more sleep and sluggishness.
Combo 5
Supplements tablets for Vitamin-C and Vitamin-E should not be consumed while undergoing Chemotherapy treatment for cancer.
Result: It will reduce the effects of chemotherapy drugs.
