Ragi has its native in Ethiopia. It belongs to Poaceae family. Its scientific name is Eleusine Coacana.

It has very low quantities of fat. 100 grams of rage only contains about 1.3 percent of fat. It contains vital minerals such as calcium and iron. Additionally, it has moderate levels of vitamins such as niacin, thiamine, and riboflavin. These nutrients are very vital for proper bodily functions and overall health.

It contains amino acids such as Valine, Isoleucine, Threonine, Leucine, and Methionine. Among these, Valine amino acid helps with proper functioning of the tissues and adds strength to the muscles. Additionally, it helps with digestion as well.

Isoleucine amino acid helps with the production of blood cells and regulates blood sugar levels. Threonine amino acid strengthens protein in the body. Additionally, it prevents the deposition of bad cholesterol in the liver.
