Exposing a stained and yellowish looking teeth in public can get very embarrassing. It can get really frustrating because no matter how good you are at brushing your teeth, those stains still hang on to your teeth like it’s been stuck with super glue.
Obviously, you can approach a cosmetic dentist to get rid of the problem. However, their methods involve using certain harsh chemical filled fluids that can have severe side effects. And not to mention the cost involved in the whole process.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is slightly acidic in nature. This acidic property will help to remove the yellow stains sticking to your teeth and make it look white upon regular use.
Mix half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with a cup of water and gargle this solution before brushing your teeth in the morning.
How often: Repeat this method twice or thrice a week for good results.
Baking Soda And Lime Juice
Baking soda has a mild abrasive property which helps to clear off stains sticking to your teeth surface. The acidic property of lime juice will help to remove the yellow stains.
Make a paste out of one teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of freshly extracted lime or lemon juice. Coat this paste over your teeth using a toothbrush and leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing it away.
How often: Try this method once or twice a week initially till you notice results, then use this method once in every 10 days to maintain the results.
Coconut oil
Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which helps to eliminate plaque causing bacterias in the teeth, thus making it look whiter.
Rub some coconut oil over your teeth for 3 to 5 minutes using your finger. Spit out the oil and rinse your mouth using cool and clean water.
Note: Do not swallow the oil
How often: Repeat this method every morning before brushing your teeth with a toothpaste.
Sesame oil
Sesame oil is a folk remedy to make your teeth look white. Many users of sesame oil claim that it works really well to get rid of plaque as well.
Swish one tablespoon of sesame oil in your mouth for about 10 to 15 minutes. Make sure you do not swallow the oil in the process. After 15 minutes spit out the oil and wash your mouth using water.

Activated charcoal
Activated charcoal has been traditionally used in India to brush the teeth before modern toothpaste made its entry. Dip your wet toothbrush in charcoal powder and use it to brush your teeth for 2 to 3 minutes. After three minutes rinse your mouth thoroughly using water.

Neem leaves
The stem of the neem tree is still being used as a substitute for toothbrush and toothpaste in many parts of India. An interesting fact is those who use neem sticks are found to have very good dental health even today. Certain compounds present in neem leaves helps to strengthen your gums and whiten your teeth.
Heat freshly extracted neem leaves in water and bring it to boil. Cooldown it down bring it to lukewarm temperature. Strain out the leaves and use the water to gargle your mouth for 2 to 3 minutes before brushing your teeth.

Orange Peel
Acidic nature of orange peel will help to dislodge those ugly looking yellow stains off your teeth surface and make it appear bright.
